INTERGROOM - 2003 TOP AWARD WINNERS

There were 77 entries in the “Intergroom International Groomer of the Year” Competition, 52 in the “Rising Star” Competition, and 8 (cats!) in the new “Feline Fantasy” Competition.

It was our pleasure to introduce the very first Cat Grooming Competition at INTERGROOM 2003.  It was met with great interest, several brave groomers, an enthusiastic Sponsor in Kim Laube, and a perfect Judge in Shirlee Kalstone.  Many spectators showed their interest in “watching” as well as the results.  A decision to change the time of the Competition next year so as to allow groomers in the dog grooming competitions to compete was greeted with huge applause.

 We had 70 vendors taking a total of 148 - “plus”  booth spaces.  Several new venders were in attendance and it was nice to see new faces.   A new record number of attendees for INTERGROOM, over 2,400, made the day and the weekend for exhibitors.  Many vendors commenting it was their best show ever!  I just love to hear that…

Prizes for classes and Special awards were as listed in the catalog – with one exception – “PetEdge” and NOT their old name  “New England Serum”  sponsored our Best American Groomer.  Somehow, I can’t get used to their new name!

 Next year - same location, more cat "stuff".
